Fairfield Medical Center's Patient Rights and Responsibilities

To make life easier for patients who are expected to absorb a lot of information about their rights and responsibilities, Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio, has compressed them into a one-page document. It informs patients of their protections from surprise bills and their right to receive a good faith cost estimate, and includes the notice of privacy practices and the financial assistance plain language summary in English and Spanish. The document was developed by Cassie Chase, an internal auditor for compliance, and Joshua Gonzalez, a compliance coordinator.[1] Here’s one piece of it. Contact Chase at cassiec@fmchealth.org.
