Workers at two separate medical facilities have been disciplined for allegedly posting intimate details about health conditions and procedures on social media.
In the first case, a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) employee, identified by the Twitter handle @CarrieeeeC, shared a photo of a patient’s preoperative anesthesia chart notes, recorded before a Sept. 7 penile implant surgery. According to media reports, the now-deleted tweet commented on the photo, stating that a “72 y/o male gets government-funded surgery,” and included an eggplant emoji.[1]
