Dr. Cornelia Dorfschmid, PhD, MSIS, PMP, CHC
Dr. Cornelia Dorfschmid is the executive vice president of Strategic Management Services LLC, a healthcare compliance consultancy. She is a PhD-trained economist and has been working as a compliance professional for more than 30 years, acting as outsourced compliance officer; providing advisory services such as compliance program implementation and review, claims auditing and monitoring, risk assessment, and litigation support; and providing services as independent review organization (IRO) or as compliance expert to the board for entities under CIAs.
Gabriel Imperato, Esq., CHC
Gabriel Imperato is managing partner at the Fort Lauderdale office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough. He is the team leader of the firm’s Health Care Criminal and Civil Enforcement, Litigation and Compliance Practice. He has practiced healthcare law in both the public and private sectors for more than 40 years. He is board certified as a specialist in health law by The Florida Bar. Imperato recently served as the general counsel of the North Broward Hospital District, the tenth largest healthcare system in the United States. He has also served as deputy chief counsel for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Office of the General Counsel. Imperato is also a longtime member of the board of directors of Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics & Health Care Compliance Association (SCCE & HCCA), where he was also a past president and interim CEO.
Sheila Limmroth, CIA, CHC
Sheila Limmroth is the privacy officer for DCH Health System in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She started her career as an auditor for Ernst & Young. Limmroth has 24 years of healthcare internal audit experience. She achieved her CHC designation in 2010 and has experience as a CAE and CCO in addition to her current role as a privacy officer. She is also a faculty member for the HCCA Privacy Compliance Academy and the HCCA Research Compliance Academy.
Judy Ringholz, JD, BSN, CHC
Judy Ringholz has a diversified background that enables her to analyze compliance issues from every perspective. She began her career as a nurse manager in perinatal and newborn nursing. During the second phase of her career, she worked in law firm settings to assist with defending hospitals, providers, and operators in malpractice litigation, then returned to the hospital setting to work in risk management. Since 2004, her professional focus has been in healthcare compliance. She served as a compliance enforcement attorney for the United States Department of Health & Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and has served as a compliance leader within five large US health systems. Her current roles are that of owner and principal of Sage Compliance Advisors, LLC and board member for SCCE & HCCA. She frequently presents at compliance conferences, has published articles in compliance journals, and serves on the editorial advisory committee for the Complete Healthcare Compliance Manual.
Dan Roach, JD
Dan Roach is an experienced healthcare compliance officer and attorney who has been actively engaged in building and maintaining compliance programs in large organizations for nearly 30 years. He is a past president of the HCCA and longtime SCCE board member. He is also a frequent presenter at SCCE & HCCA conferences and has engaged regularly in board education activities for providers and other organizations across the United States.
