The year of the nurse

The World Health Organization has proclaimed 2020 the year of the nurse in honor of the 200th birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale. “During the Crimean War, Florence Nightingale was known for carrying a lamp at night around the wards to visit wounded soldiers. The soldiers would see her lamp and feel that they had been given hope for survival. The lamp has since become an international symbol of nursing.”[1] That lamp shines brightly in research compliance with many nurses in various roles across our field. I share some thoughts from fellow colleagues who answered the question, “As a nurse, why have you chosen to work in compliance?”
