USDA considering allowing industry employees to oversee aspects of food safety in US beef and pork plants

Even as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration moves forward with the implementation of the landmark Food Safety Modernization Act, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is considering changes to how beef and pork plants are inspected.
