Maritime insurance reaches high point, following repeated attacks on tankers

Insurance premiums for cargo shipped around the world are increasing, following repeated attacks on tankers transiting through contested and volatile territory. Lloyd’s List reported that, “[s]ince May 24, London’s War Risk Committee has extended the listed areas off Oman, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which requires owners to notify marine insurers when they enter these areas and may see additional premiums levied.”
