Live training is clearly the best way (or is it?)

How often have you heard (or even thought) that live training is the only way to go if you want to do it right? On the surface, it makes sense. You picture an engaging, knowledgeable expert challenging the trainees, responding to their questions, and motivating them to do the right thing. What could be better? By contrast, you may picture a deadly procession of PowerPoint slides in unreadable legalese as online training. How could anyone learn from that?
