Here’s looking at you

Roy Snell (roy.snell@ospreysoftware.com) is ESG Officer at Osprey ESG Software and cofounder of SCCE & HCCA.

I’ve sat in on some investor-driven environmental, social, and governance (ESG) conferences to try to improve my ESG acumen but found them to be of little help for learning how to implement an ESG program. Despite the fact investors are a driving factor in ESG, it turns out they have limited familiarity with actually preventing, finding, and fixing ESG problems in organizations. Investor ESG conferences have a lot of speakers telling us that ESG programs are important and that corporations are bad. If you want to move past those two concepts and learn about all the elements of an ESG program and how to implement one, you have to go elsewhere.
