Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will not extend logging deadline

The deadline for compliance with a rule requiring truck drivers to use an electronic logging device (ELD) is Dec. 16, 2019. An ELD records information, which is centralized in a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) database, “Record of Duty Status.” The database allows for inspectors to quickly access data in one place, making it easier to uncover fraud and illegal behavior.
