Exit interviews

I recall at one point in my career, I had an impressive boss who requested an exit interview when I gave him my resignation. I remember telling him that I would love to tell him what I found challenging and why I was exiting employment. He explored my concerns in communication and practices in the compliance program and made me feel as though he cared. In the fourth edition of Compliance 101, one of the seven essential elements of an effective compliance program lists day-to-day monitoring as something that provides operational controls.[1] One control is the exit interview where you provide the exiting employee an opportunity to provide feedback on the compliance program.
