Example of Ambulance Billing Errors for SNF Transports

A report from the HHS Office of Inspector General last year concluded that ambulance providers billed Medicare for some transports that should have been charged directly to skilled nursing facilities. An ambulance company recently settled a civil monetary penalty case in connection with this type of error.[1]
