European Union sets targets for heavy-duty vehicle carbon dioxide emissions

A legislative proposal setting emissions levels for heavy-duty trucks in the EU has been approved, requiring reductions of 15% by 2025, and 30% by 2030. The proposal is acting on studies that estimate the overall CO2 emissions from heavy-duty trucks in the EU to be a quarter of all road transport emissions, and 6% of total emissions.
