Communication key in compliance

One of the measures of having an effective compliance program is communication. Communication is one of the seven elements of an effective compliance program under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines,[1] in Office of Inspector General (OIG) Compliance Program Guidance,[2] and in the HCCA-OIG Measuring Compliance Program Effectiveness: A Resource Guide.[3]

Implementing a compliance communications plan can help ensure constant, consistent communication on compliance both within and outside the organization. A compliance communications plan identifies the communication methods, frequency, and audiences intended to receive the message.
