China's new sulfur emission regulations go into effect

China's Ministry of Transport announced in July 2018 changes to the country's existing marine fuel regulations. The announcement includes the implementation of the 0.5-percent sulfur content limit for vessels sailing within 12 nautical miles of the coast, in addition to just berthing. These changes are expected to go into effect this month.
